FOTOGRAFIA – International Festival of Rome invited artists of all nationalities and aged under 40 years, who use the medium of photography, to participate in the 5th edition of the Open Call. The theme of this year’s Open Call is associated with the theme of the 15th edition of the Festival:  Rome, the world.

Among the many candidates have been selected ten authors who have proved particularly deserving. Among them the work of Serena Vittorini, Foo dëkk, has received further attention and has been named the winner.

Serena Vittorini presented a project carried out at “Amahoro”, a SPRAR center in the province of Rome, where he became familiar with Sarabba and Sidibbe, two boys from Mali. The Protection System for Asylum Seekers and Refugees (SPRAR) is a network of secondary reception centers intended to asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection.

The finalists are Sara Camilli, Shane Lavalette, Luca Sallusti and David Schivo, while the special mentions are Pein Cheong Lee, Nicola Delle Donne, Vincenzo Metodo, Carolina Munzi and Giulio Speranza.
